The 9th edition of the African Transitional Justice Forum took place in Kinshasa/DR Congo this week.
As with previous editions (the first edition took place in 2017), this one aimed to discuss the state of transitional justice in Africa under the following specific theme: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations”.
The main organisers of the African Transitional Justice Forum have been the Department of Political Affairs, Peace, and Security (DPAPS) of the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR).

The Forum brought together scholars, researchers, practitioners, policymakers,
representatives of national human rights institutions (NHRIs), civil society organisations (CSOs), and other interested participants working on transitional justice issues in Africa.
