In the week of 18 April 2022 I visited Cape Town (The Mother City)/South Africa for the first time after attending my graduation from the University of Cape Town in June 2012. From 20 to 21 April 2022 I was attending the African Transitional Justice Networking workshop hosted by the Department of Political Studies at the University of Cape Town. I was panellist on the theme “Passing the Baton: Youth and Transitional Justice”.
After the workshop I stayed around for a couple of extra days. I felt good finding myself again in the city that contributed to shaping my life in many ways while I was pursuing my master’s degree at the School for Advanced Legal Studies (home of postgraduate Law programmes at the University of Cape Town). I got a chance to meet some new people (including some CSVR colleagues that I had already e-met) and to reconnect with some old friends.
